Israel issues warning to new Hezbollah leader following recent killings in the Middle East

US expresses concern over Israel’s air strike in Gaza

The recent air strike in northern Gaza by Israel has sparked outrage and concern from the international community. According to the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza, at least 93 people have been killed or are missing as a result of the attack in the town of Beit Lahiya.

The United States, a key ally of Israel, has condemned the incident, with State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller describing it as a “horrifying incident with a horrifying result.” The US has reached out to the Israeli government to seek clarification on what happened, particularly regarding reports that children are among the casualties.

The US had previously urged Israel to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza within 30 days or face potential restrictions on military aid. However, Mr. Miller stated that there has not been enough progress on the points outlined by the US.

The UN Human Rights Office has also expressed shock and called for a prompt and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the air strike. Video footage obtained by Reuters shows the aftermath of the attack, with several bodies lying outside a bombed building.

Witnesses on the ground have described the devastation, with one individual stating that the house was bombed without warning, resulting in numerous casualties and displaced individuals. The situation in Gaza is dire, with reports of tens of thousands of people trapped without access to food or medical supplies.

As the conflict escalates, there are growing concerns about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. The international community is calling for an end to the violence and a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
