Israel Iran Conflict: Latest Updates on Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon

The Israel-Iran Conflict Escalates: Israeli Airstrikes Continue in Lebanon

In a series of intense developments, the Israel-Iran conflict has reached new heights as Israeli airstrikes persist in Lebanon. Blasts were heard in the southern suburbs of Beirut following three evacuation warnings issued by Israel early on Saturday morning. The Israeli offensive on Lebanon has caused significant damage, with strikes on Friday targeting the Masnaa Border Crossing, hindering Lebanese refugees from seeking safety in Syria.

The situation escalated further as the Hezbollah retaliated by shelling Israeli forces during a ground incursion in Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that 250 Hezbollah operatives have been killed since the ground operations began earlier in the week.

The conflict has also spilled over into Israel, with the IDF claiming that the Hezbollah launched 100 rockets into the country on Friday. The violence has taken a toll on civilians, as evidenced by the bombing of the Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil, resulting in injuries to several individuals. The World Health Organization reported that 28 health workers in Lebanon lost their lives within 24 hours.

On the political front, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei addressed a Friday prayer service, accompanied by the brother of a key Hezbollah commander who was targeted in Israeli strikes. Khamenei called for Muslim nations to unite against Israeli aggression and defended the actions of Hamas in Israel on October 7 as legitimate. He also justified Iran’s missile attacks on Israel, citing the country’s right to self-defense.

The toll of the conflict is staggering, with approximately 1,400 Lebanese, including Hezbollah fighters and civilians, losing their lives and 1.2 million individuals displaced from their homes since Israel intensified its strikes this week. The situation remains volatile as both sides continue to engage in military actions, raising concerns about the escalation of violence in the region.
