Analysts predict investors’ activity, monsoon season, and global macro trends will drive markets this week

Market Insights and Global Trends for the Week Ahead

The upcoming week in the markets is expected to be filled with volatility and key factors that will drive investors’ sentiments. Analysts are closely watching the trading activity of foreign investors and global trends to anticipate market movements.

According to experts, benchmark equity indices are likely to experience fluctuations due to the scheduled monthly derivatives expiry. Other factors that will influence the market include Brent crude oil movements and the progress of the monsoon season.

Pravesh Gour, Senior Technical Analyst at Swastika Investmart Ltd, highlighted that sector-specific movements are expected, especially with the buzz around the budget. Investors will also be keeping a close eye on FII and DII fund flows, as well as crude oil prices, to gauge overall sentiment.

Global factors, such as the release of US macroeconomic data, will also impact the market. Ajit Mishra, Senior Vice President of Research at Religare Broking Ltd, emphasized the importance of updates related to the budget and global market cues, particularly from the US.

The volatility in global markets is expected to increase further due to the scheduled expiration of June month derivatives contracts. Last week, the Sensex gained more than 200 points, while the Nifty50 inched up 35.5 points.

Siddhartha Khemka, Head of Retail Research at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, predicted that the market is likely to remain steady and consolidate at higher levels in the near term, with budget-related sectors remaining active.

Shrikant Chouhan, Head of Equity Research at Kotak Securities, mentioned that market investors will also be monitoring the progress of the monsoon. Looking ahead, the focus will gradually shift towards the budget and Q1 FY25 earnings.

Overall, the market is poised for an eventful week ahead, with various factors influencing investor decisions and market movements. Stay tuned for updates on how these factors play out in the coming days.
