Democratic and Republican Nominees in Dead Heat with Less Than a Month Until Election, New Polling Shows
With less than a month to go until the presidential election, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris is facing a tough battle against incumbent President Donald Trump, according to new polling data.
Recent polls show that Harris’s lead over Trump has narrowed significantly, with the candidates now locked in a dead heat nationally. In the latest NBC News poll, both candidates are tied at 48 percent among likely voters, a stark contrast to Harris’s previous five-point lead.
Similarly, the ABC News/Ipsos poll shows Harris leading by just two points, while the CBS News/YouGov poll gives her a three-point advantage. Overall, Harris currently holds a slim 1.4 percent lead in the Real Clear Polling aggregate.
The tightening race has raised concerns among Democrats, particularly regarding Harris’s support among key constituencies such as Hispanics and African Americans. While Harris leads among women of all races, she has struggled to garner enthusiasm among men, including African Americans and Hispanics.
Former President Barack Obama recently addressed this issue, admonishing Black men for not showing enough enthusiasm for Harris’s candidacy. Obama’s remarks came during a campaign event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of the crucial battleground states in the election.
Meanwhile, both Harris and Trump continue to focus their campaigns on key swing states, with recent events in North Carolina and Arizona. Harris criticized Trump for spreading misinformation about hurricane response efforts, while Trump called for the hiring of additional Border Patrol agents at his rally in Arizona.
As the election draws closer, the race between Harris and Trump remains highly competitive, with both candidates vying for support in crucial battleground states.
