Honoring Pacific Beach’s First Responders: 44th Annual Police and Emergency Services Appreciation Night
Hundreds gathered at North Crown Point Shores on Sept. 25 to honor Pacific Beach’s first-responders during the 44th annual Police and Emergency Services Appreciation Night. This year’s honoree was San Diego Police Department’s Northern Division, and awards were presented to several individuals for their outstanding service.
The recipients of the awards were SDPD Community Relations Officer Jessica Thrift, SDPD Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol member Bob Sgambelluri, San Diego Fire-Rescue Engineer Matthew Miller, San Diego Park Ranger Ian Chase, and San Diego Lifeguard Stephen Ure. These individuals were recognized for their dedication and commitment to keeping the community safe.
In a show of unity and support, the town councils of Clairemont, La Jolla, and Mission Beach joined the Pacific Beach Town Council as co-hosts of the event.
