Official Team Lists and Updates for Week 2 of the 2024 Pacific Championships Men’s and Women’s Tournaments

The Week 2 team lists for the 2024 Pacific Championships Men’s and Women’s tournaments have been released, and there are some exciting changes and updates to look out for.

In the Men’s Pacific Bowl, Fiji Bati will take on Cook Islands Aitu on Saturday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Fiji Bati has made one change in the forwards, with James Valevatu coming in at hooker. Cook Islands Aitu will be led by veteran Brad Takairangi in the halves.

In the Men’s Pacific Cup, the Kiwis will face off against the Kangaroos on Sunday at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch. The Kiwis have named five Test debutants in their squad, including Shaun Johnson who comes out of retirement to play halfback. The Kangaroos, on the other hand, have stuck with the same 17 that secured a victory against Tonga.

Moving on to the Women’s Pacific Bowl, Fiji Bulikula will take on Cook Islands Moana on Saturday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Fiji Bulikula will be led by Sharks grand final duo Cassie Staples and Talei Holmes, while Cook Islands Moana will be co-captained by Kiana Takairangi.

In the Women’s Pacific Cup, the Kiwi Ferns will face the Jillaroos on Sunday at Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch. Gayle Broughton and Alexis Tauaneai will make their Ferns debuts, while skipper Ali Brigginshaw returns for the Jillaroos after being rested last week.
