Dave McCormick Calls for America to Become the World’s Most Energy-Dominant Nation

Dave McCormick, the Republican Senate nominee in Pennsylvania, made a strong statement at the Shale Insight conference in Erie, emphasizing the importance of American energy dominance. He criticized what he sees as efforts to effectively ban fracking through regulations and other means, and called for unleashing oil and gas production in the U.S.

McCormick highlighted the impact of the Biden-Harris administration’s policies on energy production, particularly the decision to halt approval of liquefied natural gas export permits. He argued that these actions are holding back the potential for the U.S. to become a global energy leader.

In contrast, McCormick’s opponent, Sen. Bob Casey, addressed the conference via video, with his team citing Senate duties as the reason for his absence. McCormick took the opportunity to criticize Casey, questioning his commitment to Pennsylvania’s energy industry and accusing him of making empty promises.

In response, Casey’s campaign spokesperson defended the senator’s record of supporting the state’s energy workers and opposing measures that could harm the industry. The spokesperson also raised concerns about McCormick’s past investments in Chinese state-owned oil companies.

As the Senate race in Pennsylvania heats up, the debate over energy policy and the future of the state’s energy industry is likely to be a key issue for voters to consider.
