Cathay Pacific, the renowned airline based in Hong Kong, has exciting news for travelers and business professionals alike. The airline has announced the launch of direct passenger flights to Riyadh, the bustling capital and financial center of Saudi Arabia.

The route announcement was celebrated with a formal signing ceremony in Hong Kong, attended by distinguished guests from both Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia. Secretary for Transport and Logistics Lam Sai-hung and Consul General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Hong Kong SAR Hamad Aljebreen were among the notable figures present at the event.
The agreement solidifies the nearly two-decade-long aviation partnership between Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia, as highlighted by Secretary Lam. He expressed gratitude to Cathay Pacific for their support of the government’s strategic development goals and emphasized the importance of expanding the network to Riyadh.
Consul General Aljebreen also emphasized the significance of these flights in fostering closer ties between the two regions, citing improved relations, stronger communication, and enhanced economic, tourism, and cultural connections.
Cathay Pacific Group CEO Ronald Lam expressed the airline’s enthusiasm for the new service, noting that it will strengthen the Middle Eastern network and enhance Hong Kong’s connectivity with the region. The flights are expected to offer more convenient travel options and promote opportunities for business, trade, and tourism.
Saudi Air Connectivity Program CEO Majid Khan echoed the sentiment, stating that the direct flights between Hong Kong and Riyadh will enhance air connectivity to Saudi Arabia and attract travelers from Cathay Pacific’s extensive network to explore the tourism potential of the country.
With three return flights weekly between Hong Kong and Riyadh, utilizing modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft, passengers can look forward to a comfortable travel experience with a choice of Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
