McDonald’s Hosts Job Fairs to Fill 60 Positions Before Opening New Location in Mangilao
McDonald’s is gearing up for the opening of its eighth location in the region, the sixth on Guam under franchise holder JCA Organization. To prepare for the grand opening, the fast-food chain is hosting monthly job fairs to fill about 60 available positions.
According to Ashley Ayuyu, human resources director of McDonald’s Guam and Saipan, the job fairs have been a success, with an average of 25 to 35 applicants attending each month. The most recent job fair, held at the Harmon McDonald’s location, saw 15 applicants in the first hour alone.
Ayuyu emphasized the family dynamic within McDonald’s stores, stating that employees spend a significant amount of time together and strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment. She also highlighted the potential for career growth within the company, with opportunities for promotion and advancement.
The new Mangilao location is set to open before 2025, following the groundbreaking ceremony held in June 2023. McDonald’s is looking to hire individuals from all walks of life, including minors seeking their first job, parents looking for part-time work, and retirees looking to stay active.
